Abstract
As much as anything, it was the development of Hong Kong's infrastructure during the 1970s, especially the Mass Transit Railway's Central-Kwun Tong Modified Initial System(MIS) line, that brought the construction arm of Japan's Aoki Corporation here in 1975. Indeed, Aoki's Deputy General Manager Berwyn P Evans says the company was ultimately responsible for substantial tunnel and related construction works on three MTR lines, the MIS, Tsuen Wan extension and in the early 80's the Island Line.
一九七五年，青木建設株式會社在香港奪得第一份工程合約，為地下鐵路觀塘線鑽挖隧道。自此，該公司與地鐵工程結下不解緣。
據青木建設株式會社在香港支店副經理依雲必年指出，除觀塘線外，地鐵荃灣支線及港島線的隧道，均由青木建造。
