Abstract
In an age of intelligent buildings and hyper-modern structures, its good to see the preservation of a classical beauty without the rigours of the 1990s taking too much toll. Michael Mackey visits the famous Galle Face hotel in Colombo, Sri Lanka and sees that though it is undergoing extensive refurbishment, it's not losing the quality that makes it one of Asia's unique destinations.
