Abstract
Energy codes are in the process of being implemented in Hong Kong. These codes appear to be unrelated to each other and are already causing confusion within the architecture and related professions over how they will be implemented and monitored over time. This paper discusses an alternate approach and asks the government to take a hard look at the codes from within before encouraging architects and related professionals to follow suit.
