Abstract
Techological advances have brought the interior transportation industry a long way since William Thompson produced the first hydraulic lift in 1845. Now lifts can achieve earbending speeds and escalators are able to guide passengers effortlessly up the steepest gradients. However, there are still more interesting development in store.
