Abstract
Hong Kong is generally considered to be commercially driven and environmentally insensitive. However, several policy issues have migrated over to Asia from the more environmentally aware Europe, simply because of the seriousness of their implications for countries in our region. One of the most concerning is the sheer scale of consumption of tropical hardwoods in Hong Kong as a direct result of design specifications and the construction industry.
