Abstract
Neo-Sinoism is not Cosmeticism. It is, or could be, real. Most people's immediate response to Chinese architecture is to look upon it as merely a skin-deep treatment consisting of decorative wall motifs.
Neo-Sinoism, which I regard as a logical heir to traditional Chinese design and decoration, not only implements today's advanced technology but does so with an architectural humanness that is totally absent in those buildings where the exoskeleton dominates the facade, in structures which are glass blocks and in towers where the walls are bereft of any decoration whatsoever.
