Abstract
The Macau government's investment in infrastructure projects this year will be a planned $853.7 million, a 415% rise from 1988's $205.45 million.
Jose Manuel Machado, Secretario-adjunto para os Transportes e Obras Publicas (Under-secretary for Transport and Public Works) said, the goal of such investments is "to reinforce Macau's autonomy with its neighbours (ie, China and Hong Kong) in communication/travel routes and to improve the quality of its citizens' standard of living."
