Abstract
The impact of wall linings on the various aspects of heat release including peak heat release rate, total heat release rate, effective heat of combustion, burning time and smoke performance were evaluated. The parameters were interpreted in the light of the run-time profile to study the quantum of change, the point of occurrence and the duration of change. The increased fire hazard associated with the use of wallpapers and the present fire assessment approach for surface products were discussed.
