Abstract
帝京酒店座落於香港最多姿多彩的地區之一 - 旺角.酒店除了有典型服務設施,如餐 廳,健身中心,宴會廳及客房,還有會所,戶外園林及酒店住宅.此項工程共由4間室 內設計公司負責設計工程.
工程涉及4間設計公司之多,為設計帶來統一連貫之難題.為了讓設計不會各走極端,酒店整體以ARTDECO 及豪華舒適作設計主題,使不同設施有其獨特個性以外,也與 酒店的大脈博緊扣在一起。
此外,從結構來看,酒店的狹窄樓面,矮天花和直徑逾1米的結構柱均為設計帶來困難,尤為餐廳,因所有機電設施在設計開始前己固定了位置;結果不同設施採用不同 的天花設計,既各自營造視覺上的寬敞感,亦帶來趣味.

Royal Plaza Hotel, a brand new hotel located in Mongkok, one of the most exciting districts in H.K. The Hotel is equipped with typical facilities, such as, F & B outlets, health centre, ballroom and guestrooms. In addition, clubfloor, wedding garden and service suites are also included. 4 design practices were commissioned to be the designers of the project.
It is not difficult to realize the challenges of the project as it involves quite a number of design practices. To put the project in a better control, the hotel holds art deco style and luxurious comfort as the design concept that keeps the design in conformity, though each facilities has its unique characteristics.
Structurally, the narrow floor plate and low ceiling height has hampered the design. Also, the structural column is as thick as over 1m. in diameter. This is especially problematic at F & B outlets where all M & E services are fixed well before the design begins. Different ceiling forms are applied both to create visually high ceiling height and to give interests to different facilities as well.
